March 01, 2011 - April 30, 2011 (Hamilton East Public Library)
  Students in Fishers and Noblesville are invited to write a short one or two page essay about To Kill a Mockingbird. Essay topics are available here and many other websites. Essays should be turned in at the main checkout desk at either library location no later than closing on Friday, April 1. Essays will be displayed around the libraries throughout the month of April.

  Traveler's Dream Celtic Music Concert - The Westfield Washington Public Library will kick off this year's Hamilton County Reads with this popular Celtic music group returning from West Lafayette, IN. Traveler's Dream is an American folk group founded in 2000 by Denise Wilson (songwriter, Irish flute, tin whistle, concertina, fife and guitar) and Michael Lewis (songwriter, vocals, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, feet percussion) with various other artists participating on certain recordings and performances. The duo's repertoire draws heavily from the musical traditions of Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, French- Canada and early America. The performance will be in the Bay Window area of the library.

Directed by Robert Mulligan, starring Gregory Peck, Frank Overton and Brock Peters. Free tickets are available upon request at the WWPL Reference desk. First come, first served. Movie will be presented in the Story Pit.

  Racism in the Depression Era - Professor Heath, Ph.D, associate profession of History at IU Kokomo, will discuss racism in advertising (Aunt Jemima and "Mammy" images), popular "science" that suggested blacks and immigrants were inferior, and the prevalence of the KKK in the early 20th century. The talk will be in Meeting Rooms A & B.
